I had actually just emailed someone last week on the steps to take ie.

Phase 1 - Dual Stack public facing servers eg. Mail servers, webservers and etc
Phase 2 - Audit of network equipment and third party software and tools currently being used
Phase 3 - training for IT staff and management to understand IPv6

All the above can be done concurrently. Phase 1 is the easiest and it all goes well should be up and running in 2 to 4 weeks.

Deployment is slow as there is interest picking up at more and more people are getting aware that IPv4 addresses are depleting and they should start planning for IPv6.

Cheers, Julian
thanks for fast reply julian.
Phase 1 - Dual Stack Public , IPv6 tunnelling over IPv4 ? not the real IPv6 ?
Yes. IPv4 will be around for a long time. Read the document on available on the Group main page ie. AUSTRALIAN GOVERNMENT IPv6 TRANSITION STRATEGY. Plus it will take time for the service providers to widely deploy IPv6 to end users. Hence the best cost effective way (in my personal opinion) is to use tunneling mechanisms.
This way end users gets a taste of IPv6, there is no major fork lift upgrades for service providers and hopefully a IPv6 development eco system evolves from this with a suite of IPv6 applications.
yeah... in the end.
kitchen also can use IPv6...
some jokes in IPv6 site.

Hi Mohd Fitri, i am the expert, but I just share with you there are only 195 .my domain name are attached to a IPv6 DNS. Do you have any idea to increase the figure ? Btw, do you have any .my domain name ?
yes i have it ..

Hi Mohd Fitri, did your DNS for your .my domain has IPv6 support? Just to let you know actually you can add IPv6 address for your DNS in .my Registry System (in case you haven't know that).
Btw, do you have any suggestion we can increase the usage of IPv6 in Malaysia? I have tried to look for the Hosting service with IPv6 support in Malaysia, but so far I couldn't find any. :(

yes.. i login to mynic they have option for IPv6 support but my hosting dont have it .
im gonna try with option tunnel broker. i'll update if success.
ok... the easy way to implement ipv6 in malaysia is only doing IPv6 proxy for malaysia gateway,
domain registrar is only change the AAAA link to ipv6 proxy.. im already done with that and success.
Just to correct my previous reply. Actually I am "NOT" the IPv6 expert. :P

Hi..huhu I'm NO expert as well but I seriously don't think having a nation wide proxy will help to speed up the IPv6 implementation in Malaysia....

Nation wide adoption can only happen if the Government pushes it. G has to push really hard..like the really mean it....
